This makes me think of relationships. Your sister, husband, boyfriend, friend – whoever it is, does something you don’t like, but you hate confrontation so you just stay silent. The next day, they do something else you don’t like, but you stay silent again. This continues week by week… little thing after little thing, always ignoring it, pretending it doesn’t bug you or just brushing it off because it seems easier to just ignore it. Is this going to help your relationship? NO! Continuing to ignore the things that bug you isn’t going to solve the problem. Each new thing they do that bugs you is just going to fuel the fire. The frustration you have will continue to build and build straining your relationship further or leading you to break!
When it comes to our symptoms, it’s very similar. If we keep ignoring them, or just masking them with a supplement, medication or stricter diet, they will ALWAYS come back.
